AIGSA AT CARRARA & NUREMBERG FAIR

AIGSA delegation headed by Mr. Munavar Basha, President, Mr. Joy Panakkal, Vice President and Chairman STONA 2008 Fair, Mr. Anees-Ur-Rehman, General secretary and Deputy Chairman  STONA 2008 Fair and Lt.Col. K.L.B. Aithal, CAE participated in Carrara Marmotec 2007, Carrara Italy from 30th May to 2nd Jun 2007 and STONE +TEC 2007 Fair, Nuremberg, Germany from 6th to 9th Jun 2007. At both the places AIGSA had a stall to promote Indian Stones & STONA 2008 Fair.

Mr. Munavar Basha, President gave a presentation on “Indian Stone Sector” on 31st may 2007 at Carrara Fair. The presentation was well attended wherein the book on “Stone Sector 2006” was released. 

The delegation had detailed discussion with Dr. Mrs. Elena Pellegrini, President & MD, Dr. Giacomo  Porro, Consoling Geologist, Mr. Giovanni Lanceni, Sales Manager of    Mr. Bidese Impianti, Dr. Paolo Blasi of IMM Carrara, Mr. Tunini, President IMM and Mr. Loris Barsi, Vice President IMM, regarding various issues including participating in World Stone Conference.

At Nuremberg,  Mr. Munavar Basha, President AIGSA &  Mr. R. Veeramani, Founder President gave a presentation on “Granites & Stone from India” and Mr. Joy Panakkal, Chairman STONA 2008 Fair gave a presentation on STONA 2008 Fair. There was a good response from various foreign companies to participate in STONA Fair.

AIGSA President & Chairman Visit Spain

Mr. Munavar Basha, President AIGSA accompanied by Mr. Joy Panakkal, Vice President AIGSA and Chairman STONA 2008 Fair had a detailed discussion with       Ms. Barbara International promotion Manager and Mr. Gerardo Buron Nunez Secretary General of Spanish Natural Stone Federation at Madrid on 04th Jun 2007.

They have assured that their delegation will visit STONA 2008 and also participate buyer/seller meet.

President and Chairman also met Mr. Manuel Sanchez Perez at Macael (Spain) and     Mr. Javier Fernandez Cortes, Director of Association De Empresarios Del Marmol at Cehegin (Murcia).

Sub: Notice of the 24th Annual General Meeting of

All India Granites and Stone Association

Notice is hereby given to all members of All India Granites & Stone Association, in pursuance of Clause 11 (b) and 11 (f) of clause of the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of the Association, that the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held at The Chancery, 10/6, Lavelle Road, Bangalore – 560 001 on Saturday the 29th September 2007 at 11.30 A.M. to transact the following business:

  1. Welcome by the President and points if any.
  2. Passing of Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on 30th September 2006. (Annexure I)
  3. To receive and adopt the Annual Report of the Association for the year 01 Apr 2006 to 31st Mar 2007 (To be read out by the General Secretary). (Annexure II).
  4. To receive and adopt the Audited Statement of Accounts for the year 1st Apr 2006 to 31st Mar 2007. (Annexure III).
  5. To approve the Annual Budget for the year 2007-2008 (To be presented by the Treasurer) (Annexure IV).
  6. Appointment of Auditor (Chartered Accountant) for the year 2007-2008 (resolution placed at Annexure V).
  7. Any other subjects with the permission of the Chair: Points received at the AIGSA office up to 5.00 P.M. on 20th September 2007 shall only be taken up for discussion with the permission of the chair.
  8. Concluding remarks of the President.

FIMI - AIGSA MODEL GRANITE QUARRY AWARDS FOR THE YEAR 2007

FIMI - AIGSA- CDOS MODEL MARBLE QUARRY AWARDS FOR THE YEAR 2007

 
As you are aware, in order to encourage the environmental and social responsibilities of the Granite Quarry Owners, All India Granites and Stone Association (AIGSA) in association with Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) have instituted the Model Granite Quarry Award.All India Granites and Stone Association (AIGSA) and Center for Development of Stones (CDOS), Jaipur in association with Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) have instituted Model Marble Quarry awards.Above awards have been instituted to recognize the contribution of the concerned quarry to be a model in scientific and systematic mining and also in preservation of environment and ecology along with the socio economic development.Three awards will be given in each of the following categories (1st, 2nd and 3rd)
  1. Semi Mechanised Quarry
  2. Mechanised Quarry
These awards are given every calendar year wise. The present awards for the year 2007 will be presented during “STONA 2008 Fair” to be held at Bangalore from 6th to 10th February 2008.This letter is to invite your nomination for the awards for the year 2007. The application for the award has to be submitted in the enclosed questionnaire (Separately for Granite and Marble quarries) on the basis of which the marking will be done by the Award committee comprising of eminent persons in the field of Mining and Environment.In order to facilitate the assessment by the Award Committee, we would also request you to furnish the information as per questionnaire (Separately for Granite and Marble Quarries) and also submit the following:
  1. Photographs
  2. Videotapes
  3. Write-up about the organization.
If the available documents (Questionnaire, Photographs and video tapes) of working of the Quarries are not enough to come to a conclusion, the award committee may nominate a representative to make visits on the site to have a proper idea for evaluation of the mine.A quarry which wins an award during the year will not be eligible for the same award for the next three years. Further the quarry which has received the Model Quarry award but applies for the award after three years will have to clearly indicate the work done and contribution made since the year of receiving the last award.Participation in this award is open to any Granite & Marble Quarry lease holders anywhere in India.
